General remarks

Case studies can be used advantageously in problem or project based learning. In more standard settings where studying theoretical aspects preceeds application, these cases can be used for practicing on a large scale problem.
Several of the examples suggested here require material from other chapters and can be used in a manner that integrates the study of different types of phenomena.
